A lot of researchers are closely connected with production and studies of partially green biocomposites. Various of polymer matrices, mainly polyolefines and reinforcement-natural fibre and their combinations are used. Some of the scientists for preparing the wood plastic composites (WPCs) as the fillers use different by-products of the timber industry. Our work is focused on the investigations of the exploitation properties (tensile, flexural strength and modulus, impact strength, microhardness and water uptake) of the WPCs based on the birch plywood production by-product sanding dust (PSD) and polypropylene (PP) matrix. The fluidity of the composite melts also was noted, but the composites fracture mechanism was tried to clear up with SEM studies. For modifying of the wood plastic composites the coupling agent maleated polypropylene (MAPP) was used. It was shown that the additions of PSD and the coupling agent (MAPP) have the positive influence on the exploitation properties of WPCs based on a polypropylene.
