Cellular Networks Selection for the Remote Control Vehicles’ Control Channel Setup with Parallel Redundancy
Journal of Modern Technology & Engineering 2018

A lightweight Remote Control Vehicles (RCV) operation range is limited by the wireless communication link capabilities. Expanding mobile cellular network data transfer services facilitate cheaper wireless solutions for various data transfer needs. However, cellular data transfer services performance and availability are not sufficiently stable to be able to operate in near to real-time remote-control applications. The parallel redundancy can be implemented here to significantly increase cellular data transfer service reliability. The aim of this research is to specify better combination of cellular data transfer services to build redundant link solution for the moving ground equipment. It has been found that the best cellular data transfer services combinations are different for the dense cities and uderpopulated rural areas and must be discussed separately.
