The research is dedicated to the calculations of the economic benefits of a controlled load on the example of the Latvian power system. In the existence of automation equipment which control the overload of the high voltage lines during the hours when the price in Latvia is higher than that in Estonia, two lines can be burdened to up to 80-90 % in order to buy from northern neighbor country more electricity at a lower price. The increase in electrical power will be possible due to the regulated load.
