The three Baltic States have comparable solar irradiation levels, equivalent PV technology equipment prices, all three countries operate on a single power exchange (Nord Pool), yet there are significant differences in the intensity of PV technology utilisation. Factors such as publicity and support schemes can also influence the use of PV technologies. The aim of the article is to find out why there is such uneven use of PV technologies and to offer recommendations for the development of PV technologies. The case study is based on a year-long time series of samples with an hourly resolution of electricity prices from the Nord Pool power market, in addition to the power demand and solar generation of the prosumers of the Baltic States. Big data regarding electric energy consumption from more than 100 customers with smart meters were collected. Based on this, we predict the processes for the next 25 years and estimate economic indicators, using a detailed description of the metering system
