The rapid growth in the capacity of solar power plants is facilitated by advances in technology development and the strategic decisions taken by many countries to fund renewable energy. Investments in small- and medium-scale solar generation can represent a substantial part of the overall development of power systems. Significant investments are associated with connecting the solar generation to the grid. The main goal of this study is to identify the most economically efficient option for grid connection of solar generation and to suggest a value-based scheme for the engagement for various stakeholders. The cooperative game theory (Shapley value) is used. The results of this analysis could be adopted or recommended by both the decision-makers at the legislative level and by potential investors in the development of green energy.
