During the last decade, communication competence has been studied in the context of multilingual and multicultural society. However, it still remains a topical issue and a subject for discussion. Interpretation of the concept of communication competence is constantly changing. The concept becomes more complex and polysemous, depending on the situation and, therefore, it demands additional investigation. Due to the multicultural nature of society, the proliferation of information and communication technologies in all spheres of life, models of communication competence also change.
