The innovations in architectural design practice in Latvia will facilitate the increase of design quality and productivity considerably. In this article various software for creation of 3D models are considered. Their integration in the city planning process is necessary for the development of 3D environment planning for the purpose of visualization on a more advanced level. This will further increase the quality and productivity in the field of planning, construction and representation of city landscapes. In addition paper reviews the recent history of urban landscape visualization technologies and software techniques.
