Work is dedicated to research of design methods of crane runway beam. Common constructive features of crane runway beams are characterized in this work. The information regarding sequence of determining loads and actions was generalized and analyzed according to different design methods. Kinds and requirements of verifications of crane runway beam section have been compared in terms of providing strength, stability, endurance and stiffness. Fundamental similarities and differences in crane runway beam design methods have been stated and described. Numerical examples are developed, on the basis of which the results of calculation methods obtained are compared.
