Systems of ordinary differential equations (ODE) of special form are considered. These systems appear in various models of neuron networks, genetic regulatory networks (GRN) and telecommunication networks. Attractors in these systems are of particular interest. In simplest cases these attractors are sets of stable critical points. We provide several useful formulas for constructing of characteristic equations. Using these formulas, types of critical points can be pre-detected. Examples are provided.
