The serious danger of microbial contamination is it’s rapid spread in drinking water supply systems, which can effect large number of people in a short period of time. This is particularly noticeable in the villages and small towns due to the relatively small number of people and rapid spread of pollution. Therefore, the aim of this study is to develop effective and affordable drinking water treatment technologies for rural communities (villages) in order to decrease the number of viable but nonculturable (VBNC) microorganisms in water storage and supply systems.
