Modular PMSM Electrical Parameter Gathering for Field Oriented Control
Proceedings of the 19th International Symposium "Topical Problems in the Field of Electrical and Power Engineering" and "Doctoral School of Energy and Geotechnology III" 2020
Rahims Geidarovs

This presentation continues an idea of developing a novel modular low-voltage, low-speed permanent magnet synchronous machine (PMSM) for power-assist wheelchair within the ERDF project “Research and Development of Electrical, Information and Material Technologies for Low Speed Rehabilitation Vehicles for Disabled people” (contract No. 1.1.1.1/16/A/147) (see for example [1]-[2]). PMSMs need to have an electronical control system, as PMSMs are not able to operate by direct plugging them to the grid as well as to achieve a better performance of PMSMs. Nowadays the most popular method to control PMSM is a Field Oriented Control (FOC). Such advanced motor control algorithms require the setting of motor electrical parameters for its proper functionality. [3] This presentation is made to summarize analytical and experimental gathering of electrical parameters of modular low-speed PMSM. Experimental determination of electrical parameters is based on [3] and [4] adding special tip for using this methodology for modular low-voltage machine. In its case analytical values are calculated basing on [5], [6] and [7].
