Today increasing attention is being paid to digital transformation of all industry spheres as a whole and electrical power industry in particular. In this case, interests of scientific society are related again to maintenance scheduling of power system equipment since real-time equipment condition control techniques integrated in repair planning procedures could significantly contribute to economical effectiveness and reliability of existing networks. On this occasion metaheuristic approaches are effective means to solve the problem stated. Basing on generation adequacy mathematical formulation of the problem, the research considers possible modification of the conventional particle swarm method being widely referred to in scientific literature as a powerful instrument for optimization. The enhancement proposed being very simple itself does improve convergence of scheduling procedure and could be applied to find optimal maintenance plan of generating equipment in practice when planning constraints must be considered.
