Medical image processing is an important and actual theme in biomedical engineering. This paper presents a new semi-automatic segmentation method developed for medical image processing. The proposed method combines several segmentation algorithms, such as histogram thresholding and region-based segmentation algorithm along with image processing techniques that automatically enhance the quality of medical image to form an efficient semi-automatic method of segmentation.
