The more flexible structure of the tooth zone of axial Homopolar Inductor Alternators (HIA) facilitate the possibility to achieve technical parameters unattainable in conventional synchronous generators. This article shows how this feature of the HIA can be used to obtain high sinusoidality of the EMF. At the same time, a rectangular shape of the rotor teeth is used, which greatly simplifies the manufacturing process.
