By technology similar to the technology of aerated concrete our lightweight ceramic materials are obtained. Slurry contains 30-32% of water depending on raw materials properties. Porous alumina or once other porous ceramic have low mechanical strength and the problem is to upgrade these properties. Well known is the toughened influence of zirconia on the dense alumina ceramic. In this ceramic secondary phase of zirconia delay the growth of alumina grains. In these lightweight materials zirconia with different obtaining methods and grain size are used. Bending strength of obtained materials increase to 30-40 % depending on the used zirconia. Porosity of these materials has a little changes – bulk density is up to 0.95 – 1.20 g/cm3. Thermal shock resistance of zirconia containing lightweight materials at the same time increases by testing of materials 10 cycles at temperature 12000C. Thermal shock resistance by the change of elasticity modulus measured by Buzz-o-sonic system is determined.
