The need for practical rethinking of regional development strategies appeared in the last few decades based on the realization of disbalance between economic development and preservation of nature capital. The aim of this research is to examine the role of recycling as a mechanism of ecologic-economic balancing tool for regional development. Within the research we analyse the concept of recycling, its challenges, as well as factors of its development.
