In the modern world, the smart environment is an inherent part of human living and activity. This field is developing very rapidly, and the essential part of it is collected data transmission to monitor and control different processes and physical parameters. In turn, this has increased the application of wireless sensor networks (WSNs) for different collected data transmission. Therefore, a need for safe communication approaches for WSN become an urgent problem. The study aims to create a system that offers a potential enhancement in the physical layer to fulfill the safe data transmission requirement. It is devoted to the frequency-modulated chaos shift keying (FM-CSK) communication system performance evaluation, which applies simulations and experiments for research, analysis, and comparison. For simulation, MATLAB environment and LTspice simulation software is used. The FM-CSK communication system prototype is developed for the experimental study using analog components. Study results are evaluated using the bit error ratio as performance estimation.
