Comparison of Electrical Conductivity of Cement Composite Materials

Literature research and analysis was performed the cement composite materials, with as on various functional aggregates used that can conduct electric current. The aim of the research is to determine the different cement composite materials with fibres and various conductive various functional aggregates and that material compressive strength, as well as to compare obtained results. An experiment was performed to create different type of cement composite materials were made with fibres and electrically conductive components. Conductive cement-based compositions exhibiting both good electrical conductivity and mechanical strength have been obtained by ensuring proper dispersion of conductive phase within the composition. According to the research, there is provided an electrically conductive cement-based composition comprising: a cement binder, a conductive phase consisting of one or more of the following: conductive carbon or steel fibres, graphite, milled carbon, and Multi-Walled Carbon Nanotubes. In the course of research, 6 (six) cement composite materials were investigated and the following was performed: the transient electrical voltage of cement composite material samples was determined depending on the value of the supplied AC within the range of 0 - 14.8 V; the cement composite material samples temperature was under the influence of the supplied AC voltage 40V – up to 81,9○C; with respect to 28 days-old samples, the compressive strength from 12.58 MPa to 89.08 MPa was determined. The research is a good basis for further and more extensive research and improvement of the electrical conductivity of cement composites, as well as their thermal and mechanical properties.
