This study examines how successfully Latvia's prosumer support programs fit the needs of Energy Communities (EnCs). While individual prosumers have access to various support options, EnCs are restricted and the current support system may limit EnC development. Grant access and FiT scheme tax and fee structures make individual prosumer participation in net billing scheme potentially more financially attractive than EnC membership, thereby recommending new or adopted grant programs and FiT tax and fee adjustments to make EnCs more financially viable.
