The Impact of Work Planning Decisions on the Productivity of Sewing Production Line

Continuous and rather remarkable changes on the sewn production markets and in the desires of clients have become ordinary. Trying to keep competitive in a dynamically changing environment the sewing companies have to change their strategy and tactics. The research in carried out in Latvian joint ventures so far show that it is not possible to accomplish the planned and actual work productivity of the developed countries of the EU in Latvia. In most cases it is not just the lack of qualification of labor as much as an unsuccessful labor division, the sequence of operations in the organizational flow, a non-optimal arrangement of the working place, unconsidered detail and semi-fabricate transportation ways. Solving work planning problems in an often changing assortment conditions one have to find possible production power reserves by determining mistakes in the working methods analyzing them and considering the use of better work accomplishment methods. The article analysis the imperfections of work organization, including work standardization, in companies located in Latvia. The possible reasons for appearance of non-optimal solutions have been determined by analyzing and comparing work productivity in companies. It also offers possibilities for improvements of work standardization and working methods.
