Structure and Properties of Toughened Multiphase Polymer Composites

Results of the investigation on elastomer toughened PET, PVC and PP composites show that impact and tensile toughness of the composites can be successfully improved by the addition of the more compliant component. Purposeful radiation modification also allows increase toughness of the composites. Besides it should be mentioned that change of the certain mechanical properties of the composites can be sufficiently well predicted on the bases of conventional mixture rules.
