In the current research four types of clays were used as fillers for biodegradable plasticized starch (PS). Biodegradable PS nanocomposites were obtained using intercalation from solution method. Clay content was varying from 1 to 6 percent. Mechanical, sorbtive properties and the structure of the nanocomposites were investigated. Results show, that clay addition affects the composite film properties substantially. Such parameters as tensile strength, stiffness and hydrofobicity increase.
