Acoustic Emission Monitoring of Fatigue Damage

A technology of early detection and growth control of fatigue damage of vital constructions (for example, aviation) based on acoustic emission (AE) method is offered. AE method allows to fix the moment of microcrack formation; to define the stages of crack propagation, fixing the moments when they cease and continue to propagate; to measure the speed of crack propagation; to determine the location of cracks, etc.
