The purpose of this study is to create new polymer nanocomposites using polymer and montmorillonite. It is continuation of investigations. Polypropylene is chosen as a polymer matrix. Organically modified montmorillonites are used as selective fillers. Fillers content is varied between 1, 5, 10 weight percent. Nanocomposites are prepared using melt blending. Modification of the material using gamma radiation is performed. Most interesting manufacturing aspects of the irradiation modified nanocomposites are revealed. Mechanical and thermal properties of the produced radiation modified and unmodified nanocomposites are discussed.
