MDA is OMG paradigm, which emphasizes the importance of software development through modeling and model transformations. There is no specific methodology proposed by OMG, and MDA can fit into any software development process. Once MDA is acquired by organization, existing software development process should be aligned with the MDA. That kind of work is performed mainly by the Process Engineer roles, which are able to analyze both existing software development process and model-driven process. However, there is a lack of formalized knowledge from the process experts on how this transition should be done. Authors of this paper propose to use OMG SPEM 2.0 notation to represent current organization’s software development process and apply Query/View/Transformation language in order to transform existing lifecycle model into the mode-driven and enrich that with MDA specific aspects.
