The main goal of the BPMN models is to encourage the communication in the software projects between business and IT representatives. There also exists a standard for process implementation – Business Process Execution Language (BPEL). In the process-oriented software systems projects BPMN becomes an input for the development phase. However in this stage BPMN models are just the description of the workflow in the form of nice drawing. Process-oriented system developers have to refine the given model with implementation details using BPEL to execute it by process engine. BPMN specification offers advanced guidelines for BPMN-BPEL mapping, but these guidelines are useful only if the BPMN process model is constructed from performer dimension – when activities in the swimlanes are organized by a performer. This paper covers the issue of how BPEL process definition changes if the source BPMN model is constructed from another dimension.
