Modeling of the rural-urban partnership is an important competitive advantage of the national social, economic and spatial development in the context of sustainable development. Rural and urban relations can be compared with the ancient Eastern philosophy of the established “yin and yang” principle which postulates two opponents who are mutually complementary. The general characteristics and the differences between rural and urban interaction create a complementary pair. The completeness of the unit of rural and urban relations promotes the socio-economic development of the country and the public welfare. Sustainable and balanced development of the country can be successful only if the interaction between rural and urban areas, such as education, integration, food supply, waste treatment, energy supply, environment protection is based on a balanced representation of the interest of the rural and urban areas. Rural and urban social, economic, environmental relations are effective driving forces of the national socio-economic growth. Deep exploration of the rural-urban mutual relations and the modeling of the partnership could be seen that the effective tool with which to look for ways how the state and the society could successfully respond to global change, such as demographic change, globalization of economy, labor market dynamics, climate change, biodiversity loss, urbanization, etc. Vitally important is not only to find ways of the solving of the above mentioned problems, but also to develop models which will help to transform the new challenges caused by the global problems to facilities of the state and society sustainable development.
