Analysis of the Impact Damage Effect on the Composite Strength Performance
Sixteenth International Conference "Mechanics of Composite Materials" (MCM - 2010): Book of Abstracts 2010
Igors Pavelko, Maksims Smoļaņinovs

In this work was conducted a pilot study of samples of composite material mark- КМКУ-2М.120.Э01., the samples were tested without the initial demands, and with a hole diameter of 5 mm, was also performed their statistical processing. On the basis of these studies provided a chart of this material stretching, as well as identified the reduction of its strength in the presence of the concentrator in the form of holes: . Theoretical and experimental studies were also carried out to assess the reduction of the static strength of this composite, extension test with impact damage with different energy of low-speed blow. All calculations were performed by the method of finite elements. Also was made assessment of threshold of impact energy, as well as the dependence of reduce of strength from impact energy on two criteria: the criterion of an equivalent hole (the upper limit of loss of strength) and the criterion of concentration (the lower limit of loss of strength).
