The Economic Strategy of Generating Companies in a Competitive Electricity Market

The competition in the electricity market initiates participants to consider the needs of the market and activates the mechanisms of its self-regulation, which is displayed in the set prices and in the ratio of supply and demand. The competitive sector proportion increasing makes it necessary to study the principles of formation an effective economic strategy for power producers. To implement the mechanism of competitive pricing is used the bid price – document, whereby formalized responsible intention of market participant about electricity volume and supplying price or purchase in the market. To participate in the competitive sector providers bid prices submitted with reference to each generating unit, but new customer applications - with reference to each point of delivery for each hour the next day.
