Application of ATP/EMTP Program for Solving of Some High-Voltage Engineering Problems

The article is dedicated to the consideration of a possibility of computer stimulation of processes, which are directly connected with an issue of lightning surge and its influence on power sites. Specific attention has been devoted to the possibilities of stimulation in the ATP/EMTP program system, through which it is possible to facilitate significantly the assimilation of the material taught in the High-Voltage Engineering (HVE) course and in the allied courses. Examples, given in the Article, have been created by means of the ATPDraw subprogram, which is at the same time a graphical preprocessor of the ATP/EMTP program. Increase of the audience of the HVE course, as well as the creation of an alternative to an expensive laboratory can become a notable advantage of application of the ATP/EMTP program
