Surface coating by metallic materials have attracted a lot of attention due to their special surface properties. The classical methods of deposing metallic layers on textiles do not guarantee that a durable layer will be obtained. The layer deposited is often with a bad adhesion and may be easily worn out in usage. The plasma treatment as activation method of the surface of cotton fabric is used to improve copper adhesion to the fabric surface, fol¬lowed by the deposition of the metallic layer by vacuum evaporation technology. The process of vacuum evaporation of copper layers on cotton textile materials was carry out, the metal coated textile surface morphology is analyzed by scanning electronic microscope. An indirect method of adhesion strength evaluation is developed. Methods and results of experiments are discussed in the paper.
