Most countries have a mix of ethic or cultural groups, and Latvia is no exception. Multiculturalism is still a relatively new concept in Latvia. But there is an increasing public interest in multicultural principles and values, including their application in education. This refers, first of all, to the inclusion and fair representation of different ethic groups in the national education system. This paper examines whether computer assisted learning increases students’ motivation for studying languages, in particular, foreign languages, regardless of cultural diversities. New technologies have advantages but also limitations in the classroom, as we recognize the shortcoming of educational technology we are able to integrate it into our syllabus and methodological planning with more confidence.
