Although clays as high dispersion systems are already widely used in different products, they also are a perspective material for innovative application. Previously obtained results show that clays can be used for purification of industrial waste water, but these studies are episodic, therefore they need to be systematized and continued. Since the demands for new products are increasing, it is necessary to evaluate the suitability of clays to be used in medicine and cosmetics, which is a production with high added value. The aim of this project was to investigate the properties of Latvian clays according to preparation and treatment and to find an innovative application in the field of environmental technologies, medicine and cosmetics.
