The Doctoral Thesis has been prepared as a collection of thematically related scientific publications complemented by summaries in both Latvian and English. The Doctoral Thesis unites four scientific publications and one review. The research examined the possibilities of obtaining new purine derivatives applicable in materials science using methods known in the literature and new synthetic approaches were developed. The photophysical properties of the obtained purine derivatives and their applications possibilities in OLED devices were determined.
