Economic theorists and practitioners are increasingly discussing the possibilities of growth and sustainability, searching possible solutions, even new directions. This process became topical at the end of the 20th century. As an example there could be mentioned several scientific conferences that took place in Russia (1995, 1996) on the development directions of economic theory and their conceptual basis. In the 21st century, we are trying to create new economy, with system thinking and New Economy. Representatives of the green economy state that they have taken the best of economic theories. This article will look at the finding of various scientists, changes, similarities and differences of various times and their reflection in economic theory, at the necessity of changes, their directions and specifics. The aim of the paper is introduction with divergence and convergence in the way to sustainable development and highlights how is novel insights provide new solutions. The paper suggests how Green Economics can offer unique insights into four of the key areas (“eco”, intellectual, political and moral) of today’s significant and mounting problems and highlights how its novel insights provide new solutions. The development of this new branch of Economics is justified in this text by reviewing the main contradictions, deficiencies, assumptions, conventions, and inherent normative concepts to be found in dominant neo-classical economic thinking which have accumulated over the past two centuries. The learning from alternative feminist, environmental and related economic disciplines is seminal and these ideas are cited, contrasted and assessed for their contribution to the ideas of this newly emerging academic discipline. (Kenett & Heinemann,2006) This article deals only with the ideas of some of the problems and capitalism, and the authors will be grateful for any discussion, criticism and contributions to the topic under discussion.
