Inese Šūpulniece, Jānis Grabis

Of-the-shelf enterprise applications typically are built on a centralized database and normally utilizing a common computing platform, they consolidate all business operations into a uniform and enterprise-wide system environment. In order to improve usability of enterprise applications, this paper aims to use availability of multiple alternatives ways to perform business tasks to adapt enterprise applications to needs of individual users or user groups and to generate user oriented representations of business processes. The user oriented process view is generated on the basis of enterprise application’s capability model, which formally describes different functions available in the enterprise application, and the reference business process model. Previously observed user behavior is used to adapt the generated representations to individual users. The adaptation and generation of the user oriented representation is presented using an example of the sales business process.
