The commercialization of research results is an important component in innovation which is crucial for enterprises to remain in the business and grow. Process management approach allows focusing on measurable results and identifies the roles of stakeholders involved in the process. The goal of this paper is to investigate process of commercialization of research results in Latvia and to assess current status of this process. The main conclusion is that commercialization process exists; it produces poor results – mainly due the absence of process management.
