Anotācija Topicality of the research is that at the end of the 20th century, responsibility towards future generations became an issue that was more and more widely discussed in the society. In addition to economic aspects, the social and ecological issues became more and more outstanding, as the question whether the system of nature will be able to cope with the increasing burden caused by human activities became increasingly urgent. Latvia has made its first attempts to implement the principles of sustainable development.
