Despite the guidelines for teaching mathematics in secondary schools and even in elementary schools are unitary, the teaching process is allowed to have certain deviations which most of the teachers also use. The learning process of the schoolchildren is significantly enlarged and becomes complicated, but taking into account this huge amount of acquired information, the basic elements are mastered superficially that in its turn influences the quality of perception of the further learning process. Using the resources of EU structure funds, groups of specialists after some period create new study programs with the best purpose to learn new subjects, but the results get worse from year to year due to both: the programs and the other adjacent conditions. In order to normalize the situation and the universities to get better and better prepared future students it is necessary to investigate carefully the changes in knowledge quality in the course of time, together with the general view of evaluated level of knowledge. To accomplish this when starting the studies the 1st-year students in engineering sciences and social sciences for several years have been given the test in mathematics to test the basic knowledge. There is accomplished the research of the results and comparative analysis as well as searched for the possible solutions of the problems.
