The rotor construction with improved design for synchronous reluctance machine is proposed. Typical synchronous reluctance machine rotor construction is with ribs as main flux carriers. These ribs are connected by small steel bridges to provide mechanically robust construction. These connections are essential for mechanical robustness at the same time saliency is reduced because a path for quadrature axis flux is produced.
