During recent years Riga Technical University continuously modifies its teaching processes to comply with the Bologna process. Previous study plan and course's content of Riga Technical University did not always provide good interaction between courses and successful synergy of student skills, obtained from different practical and laboratory works. This paper shows how recent scientific achievements can successfully contribute the first two parts of this consolidation in the case of Riga Technical University (RTU). For an example, take a course of power electronics which in the future will be expanded. The students were divided into two groups according to the criterion of achievement. One of the groups was introduced to the laboratory stand. At the end of the semester, a survey was conducted among the students as they wanted to supplement the course of power electronics. The group, which was introduced to the stand was interested in laboratory work for evaluation. The control group also showed interest but without evaluation.
