The indentation test widely used to measure the depth of penetration of an indenter into test specimens. The results of this test can be used not only to determine the hardness of the material but also to obtain mechanical properties and the deformation behaviour of surface. This test is not expensive, non-destructive and need a small volume of coated material. The main purpose of this study is to investigate the indentation test method and validation of it’s by finite element simulation.
