The construction industry plays a significant role in every national economy. The balance between actions taken by the government to minimize administrative burdens and determination of quality and safety requirements in the industry is the key element on the path to greater safety and sustainability. The effectiveness of the construction supervision process is vital to risk prevention and assuring compliance with the set requirements. The construction specialists certified by certification bodies of constructors in Latvia are playing significant role in the construction supervision process. The aim of the research is to clarify what in this process is important for the certified construction specialists themselves, not the supervisory authorities, thereby evaluating the supervision process in the particular industry from the customer’s point of view. The results of the survey are significant to the development of effective collaboration between state agency and industry in order to develop possible solutions for the improvement of process effectiveness and quality of construction. The research mainly employed qualitative research methods, like literature review, analysis of construction supervision results, survey and logical constructive analysis.
