Construction companies in the Baltic States are increasingly forced to compete with companies from other sectors of the economy to provide the necessary resources and construction companies from abroad who are willing and able to engage in the construction product market. The evaluation of the competitiveness of the construction industry provides an opportunity to identify the advantages and disadvantages of the industry, as well as to develop an appropriate strategy for maintaining or improving the competitiveness of the construction industry. The objective of the research is to analyse and compare the indicators of the competitiveness of the construction industry in the Baltic States, as well as to predict future changes. The growth of the basic indicators of the construction industry in the Baltic States is analysed and the competitive advantages, as well as their importance in the construction product market, is described. In addition to that, the factors affecting the competitiveness of the internal and external environment of the construction industry are described and the development strategy of the construction industry of Latvia for the year 2014 to 2017 is assessed. The theoretical explains the most significant concepts of the study and reveals its economic content. Market competition models in economic theory, as well as market competition rules and supervision in Latvia, are also analysed. In the theoretical part, the system of evaluation of the competitiveness indicators of the construction industry is compiled. In the practical part of the research, the changes in the indicators of the competitiveness of the construction industry in the Baltic States from the year 2010 to 2018 are analysed and prediction of the changes in the indicators by the following years are made. To compare the competitiveness of the construction industry between Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia during the reporting period, a model for the evaluation is created. Based on the results of the research, conclusions are drawn and suggestions made to increase the competitiveness of the construction industry in the Baltic States.
