The Influence of Heat Substations Change on the Buildings Heat Consumption

The paper is devoted to the analysis of the results of Riga district heating system modernization in 1998-2002 and the influence of that on building heat consumption. The paper characterizes modernization measures, shows the dynamic of the measures’ implementation and its costs. Especial attention is paid to the comparison of building heat consumption before (1998/1999) and after reconstruction (2001/2002) based on the monitoring of building heat consumption in 2001/2002 for the same buildings as in the case study of 1998/1999.
