Platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) is an autologous material derived from a patient blood with a high concentration of platelets and leukocytes. It contains high concentrations of growth factors and biologically active substances. Platelet-rich fibrin matrices together with delivery system of antibiotic drug may enhance tissue regeneration and decrease risk of surgical site infection. The aim of the study was to evaluate the antibacterial effect of autologous platelet rich fibrin matrices and its combination with vancomycin.
