The most common oral disease is caries which causes the loss of dental hard tissue. Preventive dentistry is the most effective strategy against caries, therefore calcium phosphates (CaP) have been added as remineralization agents to toothpastes, dentifrices, varnishes and mouthwash suspensions. In this study we evaluated the ability of substituted CaP nanopraticles to increase the pH of suspensions after incremental addition of acid.
