Anotācija Porous ceramics from concentrated suspensions or plastic ceramic body containing limeless or lime-rich illitic clays without combustible additive are obtained. Water content in the suspension with additive of aluminium powder is within 28-35 wt%. In addition alumina is incorporates 10-15 wt%. The cause of pore formation is the reaction of metallic aluminium with water by distribution of hydrogen during the cast solidification process. The properties of materials after firing depends on the suspensions viscosity, mineralogical composition of clay, amount of alumina and aluminium powder. Clay minerals show catalitic properties concerning reaction of aluminium with water in neutral medium. The properties of obtained porous materials are: porosity 40-60 %, compressive strength 6-10 N/mm2. Shaping of plastic ceramic body by additive of aluminium granular with various grain size and in the amount of 1-5 wt% is used. Pore structure in body during firing process by reaction of aluminium with clay containing Fe2C>3 is developed. Local glassy phase around of pores due exothermal character of this reaction and it is possible to reduce the firing temperature of material. Such material properties depend on the grain size and amount of aluminium granulate. The water uptake kinetic of materials obtained by different technology is determined. By using of granular metallic aluminium or aluminium powder it is possible to reduce emission of CO2 and economy of energy by manufacturing of porous thermal insulating building ceramic with necessary properties.
