The growing electric propulsion systems market directly affects electric motors’ current density. This leads to higher power density electric motors that limit utilizing only conventional thermal management systems. As a result, it is essential to integrate this conventional thermal management system with an advanced cooling system. Oil spray cooling is an advanced thermal management system that provides enormous heat transfer; however, it faces some drawbacks caused by oil as the high viscosity coolant. This paper uses an experimental approach to consider the challenges of the high viscosity of coolant on temperature uniformity and nozzle performance.
