Amorphous Purine-Azole Conjugates and Their Photophysical Properties

Synthesis of fluorescent purine-azole conjugates for materials science application is described. N(9) position is functionalized either with trityl moieties to enhance amorphous properties or with carbazole moieties to increase hole transfer capabilities. Various electron donating and electron withdrawing groups were tested for their impact on target compound quantum yields.
